Glamour vs Sexart

The 2000’s were the decade of ‘glamour girls’ fueled by lad and ladette culture and a swathe of men’s magazines such as FHM, Nuts, and Zoo. Jordan and Jodie Marsh led the way but beyond a series of oiled-up babes in bikinis and high heels that fed the need to see boobs there wasn’t much else.

Sexart fulfills the male and female desire to see sexualised imagery but its emphasis is on the ‘art’ and artistic qualities of the work, whether it be the stylised photography of Helmut Newton or the current trend for cosplay. Sex sells, so of course sexart inherently will catch the public’s attention, but it is not yet fully defined.

Personally I believe a new era deserves a new approach and style. I did the ‘Glamour’ scene in the naughty noughties and got the (wet) t-shirt. It’s time for you to define what the Super Sexartists and Sexart World could be.
